Terms of sale and refunds

These terms apply to the full version of GenoCanvas sold by SmallHoursSoftware (“we”). Contact: [email protected]

What you buy

A licence to use the full version of GenoCanvas. After paying you sign in to your account at account.genocanvas.com, enter the name (optional) and email the licence is for, and download one file with that licence built in, which you open in your browser. The licence is a single payment with no subscription. You can sign in again at any time to download a fresh copy or the latest version at no extra charge, and to change the name or email on a copy (a limited number of times).

Orders are taken by our payment provider, Paddle.com Market Limited, which is the merchant of record and sells the licence to you; Paddle’s checkout buyer terms also apply to your purchase. The price includes any VAT that applies.

Personal use only

A standard licence is for personal use by the one person named by the email address it is issued to. You may use it on your own devices. You may not share, sell, lend, publish or copy the file for anyone else, or remove or alter the licence. Your email address is shown in the app, which makes shared copies identifiable.

The student price is for people who are studying. It needs a .ac.uk or .edu email address, and that must be the email you buy with. A student purchase made with any other address cannot be downloaded: we will refund it in full, or move you to the full version.

Team licences

A team pack (5, 10 or 25 copies) is for one organisation. After buying, the person who bought it names each copy in their account, and each copy is for its named person only. Larger teams, invoices and purchase orders are on request.

14-day refund

You can have a full refund within 14 days of paying, for any reason. Email us from the address you bought with, and we will refund the original payment method through Paddle. A refund switches off further downloads from your account, and we ask that you delete your copies of the file. After 14 days we do not usually refund, but your statutory rights are not affected.

Lost files and new computers

If you lose your file or change computer, sign in to your account and download it again, at no charge. If you cannot sign in, email us from the address you bought with.

Free version

The free web app is provided free of charge and without any warranty beyond your legal rights. It is limited as described on the website.

Use of the software

GenoCanvas is a drawing tool. It does not give clinical, legal or safeguarding advice, and you are responsible for the content of your genograms and for how you store and share them (see the security statement). Save files as backups: browsers can delete locally stored work.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, our liability to you is limited to the price you paid, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
